Being a parent is like being a gardener on LSD. You have to care for this growing living creatures, you have to make sure they are safe, you have to be kind to them, and teach them when to eat, and sleep, and have fun in the sun. But they talk back to you and make you go a little crazy. See what I mean? Maybe that's a strange way to explain parenting, but parents get it. You're not just growing a pretty flower, you're growing a pretty flower that can smack you in the head with a toy bat and then call a stranger a "fat piggy." (Literally, my brother did that when he was like two years old and my mom was MORTIFIED. Was poking the women's stomach and everything, Jesus.)

Sure, that might sound scary, and yes, it very much is, but also it very much isn't. It's a balance between being constantly terrified you're doing the wrong thing and anxious you're going to mess up, and feeling such immense love for someone and from someone that you want to explode with pure joy and happiness. If you're not a parent, this might all sound confusing to you… Let's just enjoy the memes instead then!
